The conference theme, "Emerging Research for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases," invites us to merge the worlds of scientific exploration with actionable solutions. In this abstract, I introduced a study that delves into neglected tropical disease (NTD) counts, employing advanced statistical methods to offer guidance for our esteemed colleagues in public health decision-making. Entitled "Practical Insights for Public Health Decision-Makers: Using Time Series Models with NTD Disease Counts (Selected) for Myanmar, Nepal, and Timor-Leste", this research represents an effort to bridge epidemiological insights with the pursuit of NTD control in selected countries in the WHO South-East Asia Region.
Managerial epidemiology plays a role in understanding the health trajectory of populations, assessing community well-being, and optimizing healthcare services. This abstract aims to shed light on applying time series methods within managerial epidemiology, striving to offer additional clarity for public health professionals, decision-makers, and peers working diligently in the region. The analysis of leprosy and visceral leishmaniasis disease counts uncovers intricate patterns, with ARIMA models and 95% confidence intervals serving as tools to guide our collective decision-making. This abstract encapsulates the essence of epidemiological precision, underscoring our commitment to shaping public health actions for the benefit of our communities.
