The Effects of Aquatic Exercise on Low Back Pain as for Herniated Disc in Elderly Men

Abstract

Preface: Chronic low back pain due to disc herniation is one of the common diseases in the community. The prevalence rate of low back pain in Iran was found 51.6% during one year with a sample size of 31039 people. Recently, aquatic exercises has considered as a remedy for the patients suffering from low back pain.
Methods: ours sample were randomly assigned to one of two groups: aquatic exercises group (10) and control group (10). Patients were evaluated for functional disability with Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire.
Results: The statistical analysis of data show significant difference between mean of RMDQ in the post test in Hydro exercise and control group. P= (0.010).
Conclusion: The results showed that aquatic exercise program can be considered as an effective and reliable method to decrease chronic low back pain related herniated disc.
