The research study showed the effects of early childhood education on  the  academic  performance  of  the students  in orangi town  Karachi,  the  capital  city  of  Sindh ,  Pakistan.  The research was survey type and descriptive in nature. The population for this study comprised all private schools of Karachi. Hundred pupils from eighteen private schools of district Karachi were selected on the basis of sample random sampling technique. Four hypotheses were formulated and tested using Chi-test statistics, at df 1 on 0.05 level of significance. A questionnaire was designed for teachers of the schools to give information about the effects of early childhood education on the student’s intellectual development, social development motor skills and literacy skills.  The  paper  concluded  by observing that early childhood education equip children  with prerequisite  skills  which  make  learning  easier  and  faster  for children so exposed. They are very much responsible and take active part in curricular and co-curricular activities.

Therefore early education will provide that vital physical, psychomotor, affective, cognitive, social potentials which are fundamental to human life that will play very essential roles in the   academic performance of children in the educational level and even more in the later life of the individual child.

The study revealed that there is a significant difference between pupils with early education and those without early education in their academic performances-cognitive ability, social skills and motor skills. Based on the findings and conclusion, appropriate recommendations were made.
