Abstract

Logistics and Supply Chain Management has a very important role in the regulation of sea transportation both in Indonesia and in the world because it becomes a barometer to determine the prices of goods and services to consumers. The current phenomenon in Indonesia is that logistics costs are the highest in the world when compared to Malaysia, which is only 15%, and the US and Japan 10% each. Maritime connectivity is an effort to reduce disparity in the West and East regions, which reduces economic growth, infrastructure gaps and others. PT Pelindo Marine Service (PMS) has made a new breakthrough in logistics and supply chain management that can save logistics costs in Indonesia. The PMS, which is engaged in logistics services based in Surabaya, is innovating to make Minicont (mini shipping container). The researchaimed to analyze the management of Minicont supply chain to support maritime connectivity both national and global. The data analysis used SWOT analysis to find out internal and external factors and then to make several main strategies to expand Minicont as the next world logistics solution.Based on our research that Minicont can reduce logistics costs by up to 30% and potentially to become the next world logistics solution.
