A major public health issue on a global scale is hypertension (HTN), and it is regarded as the "silent killer" and affects 31% of people globally ASHAs can be trained to help individuals control high blood pressure and to plan community-based educational sessions for groups.
The research design selected was time series research design using pre- and post-tests to assess the impact for a training program upon ASHA's knowledge and practice of HTN in a specific rural Mumbai area. 500 ASHA workers were selected for study. Data collection was done from primary healthcare centers, Data collection and the delivery of the Knowledge Questionnaire and practice checklist took place at the pre-test, which was held during the initial encounter. Then the training program regarding hypertension was given out the same day that a participant finished the pre-test. They were informed about the post-test. The post-test has been performed on the 15th day, 30th day and 45th day of the pre-test.
Result: ASHA's level of knowledge score about hypertension was found to be impacted by the training programme. Significant efficacy is demonstrated by the outcome (p<0.05).The training programme affected the ASHA's level of practice score for hypertension.
