Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, and speech and nonverbal communication. With the growing prevalence of ABA therapy as a treatment for Autism, there is an increasing need to include culturally relevant markers to help children continue to associate with their culture and fit in culturally with society. The respondents of the study included a set of 5 parents of children diagnosed with ASD and their therapists. The study was conducted with a qualitative focus through a series of semi-structured interviews. The study is an analysis of the case studies of several children’s caretakers and caregivers, to determine how therapists in India are inculcating Indian values, and traditions and taking into account their social values in ABA therapy and the perspective of the impact it had on children from their caretaker’s perspectives. The study showed positive results compared to clinical ABA therapy being followed.
