Abstract

The research delves into the relationship between CEOs' facial masculinity, as denoted by the facial width-to-height ratio (FWHR), and banking performance gauged by Return on Equity (ROE) and Return on Assets (ROA)in the Bangladesh capital market, particularly banking sector. The study employs several robust OLS estimations to analyse a panel dataset encompassing 165 observations across 33 entities over a span of 5 time periods. The results affirm the hypothesis, revealing a statistically significant and positive correlation between FWHR and both ROE and ROA. The elimination of the variable Duality due to complete absorption further refines the model. The study offers valuable insights into the potential influence of CEOs' facial characteristics on banking performance, necessitating continued exploration to comprehensively grasp the multifaceted determinants shaping the industry's success.
