In this study, the total phenolic, flavonoids and condensed tannin content of five commercial extracts (Thymus, Basilicum, Romarinus, Lavandula and Trigonella) were examined. For the determination of the total phenolic contents, the Folin-Ciocalteau procedure was used. The content of total flavonoid present in the extracts was measured using aluminum chloride assay. Condensed tannins were determined according to the method by Julkunen-Tıtto. The results demonstrated that Lavandula extract possessed higher total phenol than the others followed by Trigonella extract. The Trigonella extracts showed the maximum content of flavonoids and tannins. From the results of the present study, it is concluded that these extracts are the best sources of phytomedicine.
