Abstract

Purpose of the Study
Responding in food security significantly contributes to agriculture based economy like Bangladesh in economically, socially and environmentally sustainable manner. Climate change is happening and climate change coping strategies alter impact of environmentally changing circumstances by their economies. Moreover, sustainable adaptation claims to sustain food security on road to sustainable development goals (SDGs). Consider all the above things, the current study conveys to measure the sustainability of climate change adaptation by the farmer’s observation through a participatory indicator based approach in Northwestern region, Bangladesh.
Sampling and Methodology
A cross sectional multistage random sampling will use to collect 1000 data by face to face interview method in Northwestern region, Bangladesh.
The study tries to robust more by demonstrating the sustainability indicators in social, economic and environmental concept using composite indicator method. A tri variate Tobit regression will examine to employ sustainability analysis over climate change adaptation strategies and explain how the climate change adaptations affects different dimensions of sustainability.
Results
The results of this study concentrate on observed climate change on sustainable adaptation analysis, robust indicators on sustainable manner and the effectiveness of various socio-economic characteristics.
Policy Implications
The policymakers will get useful guidelines on food security through sustainable adaptation by farmer’s observed climate change adaptation strategies in rice farming.
