Adolescents’ cognition, behavior, and attitudes are essential for environmental conservation; hence, the physical environment plays an inevitable role in their mental health. The environment can influence adolescents’ sense of support, freedom, and the stimulation they seek in life. Environmental factors such as pollution, weather, lifestyle changes, and working conditions significantly influence adolescents' mental health. Environmental cognition refers to the way of thinking significant for an adolescent’s physical and psychological well-being. Ecological protection and recovery are the significant challenges of today. Thus, knowing and learning about ecological cognition and its influence on adolescents is vital. Environmental knowledge, media exposure, and perception of environmental issues are the three domains of environmental cognition. A positive approach toward the environment can enhance adolescents' mental health, which is crucial to them. This study explores the degree of relationships between environmental cognition and adolescents' mental health, with particular reference to a narrative approach. The findings obtained from this study have important implications for developing focused interventions creating policies for urban planning and developing adolescent-friendly community designs, which act as solid pillars for promoting mental health among them.
