Abstract

The year 2019 caught all the nations by surprise and uncertainty as we faced the pandemic - COVID-19. This disease is classified as a severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Thereafter, the world was in a desperate need of an efficient and safe vaccine. With the improved development of science and research currently there are 11 approved vaccines available. India also was one of the countries which produced vaccines as well as exported the same to other countries. The first phase of vaccination involved the front line warriors. The intentions of which could be to dispel fears and expect the medical professionals to identify any undesirable effect. The covid vaccine was administered to all the health care workers and students of JSS Dental College, Mysuru a constituent of JSSAHER, as part of the drive. The first dose of vaccination was given in the month of January following which second dose was given after 28 days. A questionnaire was developed and sent by email to be filled by those who were vaccinated to record and assess their experiences post covid vaccination. The questionnaire was subjected to statistical analysis to evaluate the experiences and challenges faced by them. This study would give an insight to the problems faced and help us attain feasible solutions for the general public undergoing vaccination.
