Medical science was my dream since I was young and I strove my path toward medical faculty in Udayana University. Therefore, I was really glad when I enrolled as medical student in 1997. With lots of hard works, I finished my bachelor degree and medical training in time and continued to pursue higher level in my profession as pediatrician in which I earned my degree in 2010. However, realizing that I could give greater contribution not just as clinician, but also as medical educator, I decided to pursue doctoral degreein Faculty of Medicine Universitas Gadjah Mada from 2011 to 2018. Now, I am a pediatrician as well as faculty member in Faculty of Medicine and Health Science UniversitasWarmadewa and I am trying to explore the relationship between metabolic disease and one of the most prevalent infectious diseases in Bali, dengue hemorrhagic fever in children. I believe that my work will result in better risk stratification of children with DHF who also have metabolic disease which would lead to better treatment.
