The author was born from her father Ato Amare Lulseged and her mother W/o Yeshialem Baya in 1994 G.C, in East Gojjam Zone, Amhara Region. She attended her elementary and secondary school in Yejube School. After her successful completion of high school education, she joined Haramaya University in 2012 and graduated with B.Sc degree in Agricultural economics in July 2015. After graduation, she joined University of Gondar for her postgraduate study in the field of Agricultural Economics. And also completed my Msc in 2017 by agricultural economics.
Ikenna Kingsley Uchendu is currently working as a lecturer in the Clinical Chemistry Division of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, University of Nigeria since 2014. He achieved MSc. degree in Clinical Biochemistry in 2014 from the University of the West of England, Bristol, United Kingdom. He has obtained B.MLS degree in Medical Laboratory Science in 2009 from the University of Nigeria. Ikenna Kingsley Uchendu does research in Clinical Chemistry, Nutritional Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology, Ethnopharmacology, Toxicology, Molecular and Signalling mechanisms, and Cancer and Cell biology. He has published his research findings in more than 40 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Norhayati Hussain is an academician at Department of Food Technology, Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. Currently, her main researches focus on food sciences, food technology, Halal product development and cocoa processing. She covers method modification for determination of PAH in cocoa, product development from Halal by- products, study migration of fat and water in chocolate filling from tropical fruits, optimization of yeast starter cultures for cocoa fermentation (collaboration with Barry Callebaut Malaysia Sdn Bhd), cocoa espresso and blending of selected vegetable oils with palm olein. She was a researcher at Biotechnology Division, Malaysia Cocoa Board, handling research on patented prebiotic chocolates (pure milk and dark chocolate) funded by Technofund program. She also has experiences in food and beverage industries under the Research and Development Department at CPC/ AJI Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur and SBM Food Industries, Melaka, Malaysia. She obtained her PhD and Master degree in Food Science from University Kebangsaan Malaysia and her BSc degree in Food Science and Microbiology from University of Strathclyde, U. Kingdom.
Shiekume Shalem is currently a PhD student In Nutrition and Food Sciences of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Calabar, Nigeria. He holds an MSc degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of Reading, United kingdom (2014) He also received a BSC in Food Science and Technology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria (2009). He has been an academic staff with Department of Food Science and Technology of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, since 2012, currently he is a member of the academic staff of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of the same University. He has been involved in teaching and research for over seven years. A strong advocate for healthy dieting and the use of indigenous Nigerian Foods in the management of chronic diseases particularly Diabetes. He involves his students in developing food products and meals using local food materials for specific conditions or target groups. His professional interests focus on Identifying food groups and nutrients that could be used in the management of nutrition related disorders in Nigeria. He also has interest in the nutritional status of women of child bearing age as well as nutrition related problems peculiar to local women and Children in Nigeria. In addition, he is a member of the Nutrition Society of Nigerian(NSN) and the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST).
Dr. Sani Sambo Datsugwai Mohammed is presently an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Nile University of Nigeria, FCT, Abuja. He completed his graduation from Waziri primary school, Agaie, Niger State in 1990 as the overall second best Student with the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). He has done his masters and doctoral studies from Microbiology from Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State.
He is a Fellow- Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (FISLT),Fellow- Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), Member- Certified Management Consultant (MCMC),Member- Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (MIPAN), Member- Society for Testing Laboratory Analysts of Nigeria (MSoTLAN), Member- Nigerian Society for Microbiology (MNSM), Member- Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (MBSN), Member- Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (MNIFST), Member- Nigerian Association of Teachers of Technology (MNATT),Member- American Society for Microbiology (MASM). He has over one hundred (100) scholarly published articles in both national/local and international high impact journals. He has also published two (2) books in Germany and with several publications in book of proceedings and abstract of conferences of societies and associations.
Zekiros Fikadu was born on 20 December 1985, in Adwa, Tigray, Ethiopia. He have completed his elementary school education in Adwa elementary schools. Then he joined and completed high school education in Nigiste Saba comprehensive high School, Adwa. He joined Hawassa University in the 2005 academic year and graduated in July 2007 with a BSc Degree in Animal and Range Sciences. Immediate to his graduation, he was employed as an animal breeding and forage science expert in Ahferom Woreda and had worked for one year. Then he was employed as full-time academic staff member in Shire ATVET College, Department of Animal Science on 12 March 2010, and worked as a graduate assistant for three years. Then, he have joined Mekelle University, School of Graduate Studies in October 2012 for his MSc Degree study in Livestock Production and Pastoral Development programme through sponsorship of Mekelle University and graduated in July 2014. Finally, he was employed as full-time academic staff member at Aksum University, College of Agriculture, Department of Animal Science on 31 October 2018, to date and work as a lecturer.
Fikiru Waldageorgis Dase is a researcher at Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research, based at Melkassa Agricultural Research Center, Ethiopia. Recently he has completed his master’s degree program in Food Technology at Can Tho University via a sponsorship of VLIR-Vietnam Network Program in Vietnam and now joined his former institute. Fikiru Waldageorgis Dase has completed his bachelor degree in Postharvest Management from Jimma University, Ethiopia. In addition, he is studying another master’s degree at Addis Ababa University in Food Science and Nutrition. His areas of study are rheological properties of food materials, plant polyphenols and antioxidant properties, product development, and process and recipe optimization, child and maternal nutrition, nutrient retention techniques.
Rauf Ahmad after doing Master in Organic Chemistry, worked as QC Manager in private sector during 1990- 1994; and later on joined “Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC)” Islamabad - as Trainee Scientist in DANIDA Project “Ecotoxicology Research Program”, a subsidiary initiative of “Pesticides Network for Asia & Pacific”, latter on was posted as “Scientific Officer (SO)” to establish “Federal Pesticides Lab” in the year 2000. During August 2004 - March 2011, worked as Senior SO/ IRRI Lead Scientist to perform Grain Quality Testing mandatory for commercial purpose cum varietal development; and collaborative activities with IRRI. During 2011- 2015, posted as Principal (PSO) / Assistant Coordinator (Cereal System) – PARC to look after rice trade and registration matters; Grain Quality Lab (Chemistry part) under “National Plant Health Inspection System” project that transform Lab under ISO 17025 accredited. Being member “International Network for Quality Rice (INQR)” actively participated in different task forces including method development for measuring Real Amylose “ISO 6647; rice metabolomics” - a joined venture of INQR- MetaPhor group. During 2016 - 2019, worked as PSO/Assistant Director Projects (Crops Sciences Division) to appraise Research Projects; Monitoring and Evaluation, periodic reports under initiatives “Research for Agriculture Development Program; Public Sector Development Program; Agriculture Linkages Program”; Pakistan Science Foundation; MoU projects and others. Since April 2019, working as Incharge “Oil Quality Lab” NARC; and doing Ph. D research “Physiochemical Properties, Biochemical Profile, and fatty acid composition of Adlay (Coix lachryma – jobi L. var –yuen Stapf) seeds grown in Pakistan”.
Shinya Tajima was born in 1976 in Saitama near Tokyo. He graduated from Keio University School of Medicine. After graduation, he is working in Department of Pathology at the same institution. He received PhD in Radiologic-Pathology from St. Marianna University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan. He is currently working at the Department of Pathology and Radiology of this latter institution. His interests are breast pathology, breast radiology and breast radio-pathological correlation.
Vincent Makini Gichaba is currently a part time lecturer at Kabarak University, Kenya. Previously, worked as a part time lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management and Agricultural Education at Chuka University, Kenya for three years. Also, an experienced teacher of Agriculture and Biology subjects employed by the Teachers Service Commission of Kenya since 2011. Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education and Extension from Egerton University, Kenya and a Master of Science degree in Agronomy from Chuka University, Kenya. Currently, pursuing a PhD degree in Agronomy at Chuka University, Kenya.
Wondimu Ayele Lombebo is a senior researcher and teacher at Wachemo University in the College of Agricultural Sciences. He received a bachelor’s degree in Animal and Range Science from Wolaita Sodo University with award of University gold medal and cup, and a master’s degree in Animal Genetics and Breeding with very great distinction from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. He is a young and energetic scholar, currently He is a Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences in Wachemo University amd served in head position of animal science department formerly. His research interests include characterization, animal reproduction and production, farming systems and households income genaration for food securiy.
Babawande Adeboye ORIGBEMISOYE is a research assistant at the Department of Food Science and Technology, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. His research interest is in the application of bioactive peptides from food proteins as nutraceutical and functional foods in the treatment of some chronic diseases without resorting to harmful drugs. As an astute scholar he is a recipient of several scholarly awards and scholarships for his postgraduate studies. Because of his fervor for the food industry, Dr. Origbemisoye has been graciously afforded opportunities to work with top food processing companies in Nigeria such as Zartech Nigeria Limited where he supervised workers and ensured quality production of foods and OKFoods Nigeria Limited where he was responsible for appearance, organoleptic checks and product shelf life of biscuits.
Dr. Abdeen Mustafa Omer (BSc, MSc, PhD) is an Associate Researcher at Energy Research Institute (ERI). He obtained both his PhD degree in the Built Environment and Master of Philosophy degree in Renewable Energy Technologies from the University of Nottingham. He is qualified Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record within the water industry and renewable energy technologies. He has been graduated from University of El Menoufia, Egypt, BSc in Mechanical Engineering. His previous experience involved being a member of the research team at the National Council for Research/Energy Research Institute in Sudan and working director of research and development for National Water Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Sudan. He has been listed in the book WHO’S WHO in the World 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. He has published over 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 200 review articles, 17 books and 150 chapters in books.
Massimo Reverberi has a University degree in business administration and owned a marketing agency for nearly 20 years. In 2015 he founded Bugsolutely Thailand, which produces the unique Cricket Pasta and in 2017 he started Bugsolutely China, which designed Bella Pupa, the first silkworm flour-based snack. He is a founding member of AFFIA, the South East Asian edible insect association and a co-founding member of Woven Network, the British edible insect association.
