  • Post COVID 19 Lung Parenchymal Disease Management Experience with Follow up Outcomes in Qatar: A Case Series

    Phool Iqbal and Saba Nabavi Monfared, Internal Medicine Department, Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar.

    Phool Iqbal is a Critical Care Fellow in Internal Medicine at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar, affiliated with JCI and ICU department is accredited with ACGME as well. He has done his Medical Graduation from Pakistan from Punjab Medical College and later started his Internal Medicine residency training at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar. He has been the annual newsletter editor and research committee member.  He has been involved in various quality projects, international research poster presentations and published research articles including, systematic reviews, case reports and observational studies. Currently working as a critical care fellow in medicine at HMC, selected as a representative member from his department for trainee’s council for improvement patient quality, education and research. At the time being, he is involved in meta-analysis and various national and international research projects in his department.  His areas of interests are public health and awareness, research and mental well-being.

    Dr. Saba Nabavi is an Emergency Clinical Pharmacist at Hamad Medical Corporation in Trauma and Emergency department since 2020. She has been graduated from Qatar University College of pharmacy. Her field of interest is acute care setting and emergency medicine. Baking and reading Persian novels are considered as her favourite activities.

  • Biomarkers as a Diagnostic Tool in Cancer: A Boon or a Bane?

    Priyanka Varma is a Clinical Project Manager in Preferred Medicine Inc. on developing a test to detect breast cancer at an early stage utilising cancer biomarkers. She is an International Medical Graduate with a postgraduate Degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology from India. Also she has an additional Master's in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine from University College of London, United Kingdom. In the United States, she had the pleasure to work in translational research, investigator initiated research as well as sponsored clinical trials in varied disciplines, the above roles gave her an opportunity to get published in several peer reviewed journals as well as present at international conferences.

  • Undescended Testis: Knowledge and Practice among Primary Care Physicians in Bahrain

    Sara Ahmed Ali Ahmed is doing her Second Year of General Surgery Residency in Salmaniya Medical Complex. She has graduated from Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 2017. She is an Arabic, English and Mandarin speaking doctor from Bahrain. Her passion for surgery has evolved during her clerkship in China where she worked in The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou province. Away from bloody operating theatres, she likes to unwind in nature. She enjoys hiking and long horseback rides by the beach. Her ultimate goal is to seize every opportunity she provided with in order to thrive as a surgeon and grow into the best version of herself.
