Abstract

Tumor biomarkers play a crucial role in personalized cancer management, providing vital information for early detection, guiding therapeutic decisions, and monitoring treatment responses. This paper reviews the critical transition of tumor biomarkers from discovery to clinical application, systematically examining prominent biomarkers such as HER2, PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen), CA-125 (Cancer Antigen 125), and CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen). Additionally, it recognizes the importance of a wider array of emerging biomarkers that contribute to the evolving landscape of oncology. The analysis elucidates how these biomarkers enhance diagnostic accuracy, improve prognostic stratification, and facilitate the development of tailored therapeutic strategies. The discussion encompasses recent technological advancements, including next-generation sequencing and liquid biopsies, which enhance the identification and validation of these biomarkers. Despite these advancements, the clinical translation of biomarker research faces challenges, including issues of standardization, validation, and the necessity for robust clinical trials. This work emphasizes the critical role of interdisciplinary collaboration in overcoming these barriers and advancing biomarker research.Ultimately, this review underscores the transformative potential of tumor biomarkers in revolutionizing cancer care, paving the way for innovative therapeutic strategies and improved patient outcomes. By integrating insights from various fields, tumor biomarkers can significantly enhance treatment decisions, predict patient outcomes, and monitor therapeutic efficacy.
