Cancer is a disease in which cells in the body grow unconditionally and spread to other parts of the body. This happens when the body's normal control mechanism fails. Old cells do not die, but they grow out of control and create new abnormal cells. These extra cells can form a mass of tissue called a tumor. Some cancer cells grows rapidly, while others slow down cell growth and division. Cancer is not limited to humans. Animals and other organisms can get cancer. There are many types of cancers such as breast cancer, colon cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma, oral cancer, prostate cancer, rectal cancer, skin cancer, and melanoma. Each type is categorized according to cell type, individual diagnosis and treatment method.
