Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of nervous system diseases. The nervous system consists of two parts: Central Nervous system (CNS) and Peripheral Nervous System (PNS). The CNS refers to the brain and spinal cord and PNS include all the nerves outside the CNS. Neurologists treat neurological conditions like stroke, epilepsy, headaches and migraines, brain tumors, brain aneurysms, peripheral neuropathy, sleep disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease, neuromuscular diseases, such as myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis (MS), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) etc. Therapies for neurological disorders may consists of
  1. Lifestyle changes to prevent or reduce the conditions
  2. Medication to prevent the worsening condition of the patient
  3. Physiotherapy to manage the symptoms
  4. Pain management

Mental Health is a state of well-being, which involves changes in emotion, thinking or behavior (or a combination of these) where every individual has to cope up with the stresses of life knowing their own potential. The main causes of mental illness include genetics, environment, childhood abuse or trauma, severe stress, experiencing discrimination and stigma, bereavement, unemployment or losing a job, drugs and alcohol consumption etc. We can treat mental illness with psychotherapy where it explores the thoughts, behavior and feelings of the individual to improve their well-being. Psychotherapy paired with medication helps in quick recovery
