People prefer to use the medicinal plants instead of using chemical compounds because they are of low cast and have less side effects as compare to chemical compounds. Zingiber officinale Roscoe is a natural dietary rhizome with anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic activities. Tribulus terrestris L. has been used for the treatment of impotence, enhance sexual drive and performance, have diuretic and uricosuric effects. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the poly herbal extract TZ (Tribulus terristris and Zingiber officinale) for phytochemical screening, anti-hypertention, liver function, kidney function and blood profile which may pave the way for possible therapeutic applications. The effect of poly herbal methanolic extract (TZ) on biochemical parameters of liver, kidney and hematology of Wister rats were studied. Dose of (100 mg, 250 mg and 500 mg kg-1 body weight) of the extract were administered orally for a period of twenty-eight days. The biochemical parameters such as ALT, ALP, AST, total serum protein, total serum albumin, serum bilirubin were estimated as reflection of liver function. Kidney parameters were investigated through the measurement of blood urea and creatinine. Effect on blood biochemical parameters was estimated by evaluating the hemoglobin, RBC, Platelets, TLC, Neutrophils, Eosinophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, MCV, MCH and MCHC. Antihypertensive effect was measured by the invasive method. It was concluded from the results that poly herbal extract is safe and can be used for the treatment of hypertension.
